A pub quiz night, run from your phone.
One person hosts from their phone. The quiz shows big on the TV. Everyone else joins free on their own phone by scanning a QR code or typing a four-letter room code, with no app to install and no account to make. Picture rounds, zoom-outs, buzzers and a podium at the end.

Three steps from sofa to scoreboard.
Nothing to set up beforehand, and nobody has to sign in.
Host opens a room
Open the app on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV. A room opens with a four-letter room code and a QR code, and the quiz shows on the TV.
Everyone joins
Players scan the QR code or type the code at puzlrquiznight.com on their own phone, then pick a nickname and a colour. Up to eight can play.
Play it out
Choose Quick, Classic or Full, press Start, and answer on the phones while the questions, pictures and scores play out on the TV.
What the room sees.
The TV shows the question, the picture and the scores. Phones are for answering.

11,000+ questions
General Knowledge, Science & Nature, Music, Film & TV, History, Food & Drink, Sport and more.
Themed packs
Warm-Up, Best of British, Around the World, Screen & Sound, Wild & Wonderful, Sporting Greats, Time Travellers, Foodie Fortunes, Brainy Bunch and Family Fun.
Rounds with variety
Picture rounds, zoom-out rounds where an early answer scores a bonus, buzzer rounds, speed rounds, and sudden death to break a tie.
Your pace
Quick takes about 20 minutes, Classic about 45 and Full about an hour. Choose four or six answers per question.
Five colour themes
Pick the look of the TV and every phone to suit the room, from a bright party to a dim lounge.
Scoreboards and a podium
A scoreboard after each round and a podium at the end, shown big on the TV.
Questions stay on the server
Each question is sent only when it is asked, so nobody can peek at what is coming or at the answers.
No accounts for players
Scan the QR code or type four letters. Players choose a nickname and a colour and they are in.
The host has the controls.
The host's phone shows the correct answer with a tick that players cannot see, and has Next, Pause, and the controls to skip a question or end a round.

Or host from a tablet.

Five quizzes free, then a subscription for the host.
Only the person hosting ever pays. Players always join free.
Prices are in pounds sterling for the UK; other countries are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by the store.
Frequently asked questions.
How many people can play?
Up to eight people can play in one quiz, and a quiz needs at least two. The host can rename or remove any player.
Do players need to install an app?
No. Players open puzlrquiznight.com in any current web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, type the four-letter room code or scan the QR code, and pick a nickname and a colour. There is no account to make.
What do I need for the TV?
On Apple devices, the Apple TV app can host and show the quiz, or an iPhone, iPad or Mac can send the picture to a TV with AirPlay or a cable. Any other TV with a web browser can show the quiz at puzlrquiznight.com/tv/ by entering the room code and the TV code. The Android and Fire TV apps are coming.
What happens after the five free quizzes?
Hosting then needs a subscription: £29.99 a year or £3.99 a month, billed by the App Store (or Google Play once the Android app is out). Both renew automatically until cancelled. Players never pay and are never asked to.
Is it safe for families?
Quiz Night is made as a family game. Players only give a nickname, which the host can change or remove, and there are no adverts and no tracking across other apps or websites. Read the privacy policy for the detail.
Where do the pictures come from?
Pictures are photographs, maps and flags used under public domain or Creative Commons licences, plus images made for the game with AI image tools. Every picture is credited on the credits page. That page lists the answers, so it is best left unread during a game.
Do I need to be online?
Yes. The host and every player need an internet connection, because the questions are sent from a server one at a time. That is also why nobody can peek at the answers.
