Help with Puzlr Quiz Night on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Android and Fire TV.
Hosting a quiz
- Open Quiz Night on the device that will host: an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Android phone or tablet, or Fire TV.
- A room opens and shows a four-letter room code and a QR code.
- Choose Quick (about 20 minutes), Classic (about 45 minutes) or Full (about an hour), and any options in Settings.
- When your players have joined, press Start. A game needs at least two players.
- Use Next to move on, Pause to pause, and More to skip a question, end a round or end the quiz. You can rename or remove any player.
The Apple TV is the host and does not play, so players join on their phones. On iPhone you can also play along, and you can send the game to a TV with AirPlay or a cable.
Joining a quiz
Players need no app and no account. On any phone, tablet or computer, open puzlrquiznight.com in a web browser, type the four-letter room code (or scan the QR code), and choose a nickname and a colour. Up to eight people can play.
Showing a quiz on a TV (the TV code)
The host screen shows a four-letter TV code beside the room code. A TV or Fire TV that is only showing the game (not hosting) asks for both codes. Choose "Show a quiz on this screen" in the Android and Fire TV app, or open puzlrquiznight.com/tv/ in a browser, and enter the room code and the TV code. On Apple devices, AirPlay or a cable shows the game directly.
If a phone cannot join
- Check the code: it is four letters, and the address is puzlrquiznight.com followed by the code.
- Check the phone has an internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). Everyone needs to be online.
- Check the quiz has not started or finished. A player who loses connection can open the page again and rejoin; their seat is kept for a short while.
- A quiz holds eight players. If it is full, a seat opens when someone leaves or the host removes them.
- Try another browser, or close private browsing, and reload the page.
- If the host's room has closed, start a new one and use the new code.
Free quizzes and the subscription
Your first five quizzes are free. After that, hosting needs a subscription: Quiz Night Monthly (£3.99 a month) or Quiz Night Yearly (£29.99 a year). Prices in other countries are shown in the app before you buy. Players never pay. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel
- iPhone and iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Quiz Night. Or, in the app, open Settings and choose Manage subscription.
- Mac: App Store, your name, Account Settings, Subscriptions.
- Apple TV: Settings, Users and Accounts, your account, Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play, your profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Quiz Night.
- Fire TV and Amazon devices: your Amazon account, Apps and subscriptions (or Memberships and Subscriptions).
Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We cannot cancel or refund a subscription bought through a store: refunds are handled by Apple, Google or Amazon.
Restore purchases
If you have subscribed and the app asks you to subscribe again (a new device or a reinstall), open the subscription screen and choose Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account (or Google or Amazon account) that bought it. Each store's subscription is recognised on that store's devices.
Device requirements
- iPhone and iPad: iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Apple TV: tvOS 26 or later. Mac: a Mac that can run the iPad app version of Quiz Night, macOS 26 or later.
- Android: Android 9 or later, with Android System WebView (Chrome 80 or later). Fire TV: Fire OS 7 or 8 devices. Newer Fire TV devices that run Vega OS cannot install the Android app.
- Players: any current web browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
- An internet connection is needed for the host and every player.
Free quizzes and the security check
On a device that cannot prove itself to our server (a Mac, a simulator, an older device, or the web host), a short Cloudflare security check may appear before your first free quiz, and the free allowance may be smaller. On Apple TV, if the server asks for proof, the app tells you to host from an iPhone or iPad, or from the web host shown by the QR code. Subscribers are never blocked by this check.
